In the world of the geisha, a regular customer who supports her is called a Sponsor.  Even though I lived in Ann Arbor, MI., I supported Princess Chanel by sending her money through her Paypal account.  She then sent me video tapes of her performances.  I was her Sponsor.

In the fall of 2003 Chanel moved to New York City to strike it big as a T-girl performer.  She waited tables at a T-friendly restaurant called "Tara Thai."  She found occasional work at an Asian gay club called "The Web" on 58th & Madison, and transgendered bars called "The Silver Swan" and "Club Rouge." 

I continued to support her with occasional monetary gifts.  I had download all of her photographs, and had all of her video tapes.

In March of 2004, Chanel took a trip home to her native Thailand.  In May 2004 a force 7 earthquake occurred in the Pacific Ocean, sending a giant tsunami crashing into the Pacific Rim countries.  Thailand was hit especially hard, and the death toll was estimated at over 7,800. 

I never heard from Chanel again.  I do not know if she is alive or dead.  But I am the sole custodian of the beauty that was her.  It is my hope, that if she is alive, one day she might google herself, and find this website.  If so, I hope she will e-mail me.

She was a vision of charm, grace and elegance that could really strut her stuff on the dance floor.  This shrine is in memory of her. 

It was just a Barbi world, and she was just a Barbi girl.
